This idyllic white-sand beach is backed by a pleasant grassy area and is one of the Big Island’s nicest beaches. Palm trees and lava rocks surround this family-friendly beach, and a protected inlet area has shallow water where kids often play.

Highlights

Views of Maui and Mauna Kea volcano add to the delight of this lovely crescent-shaped beach. The turquoise water and white sand surrounded by lava make this pretty beach very popular for Big Island weddings.

Need to Know

It is best to come early to this beach as there is limited parking and you won’t be let past the guard house if the parking lot is full. About 100 yards north of Kikaua Point is Kukuio Beach. From the parking area a trail to the beach takes about five minutes to walk.

Access

Kikaua Point Beach is located near the Kukio Golf Resort about ten miles north of Kailua-Kona. Coming from Kona on Route 19, turn left at Kukio Nui Road near Mile Marker 87.
