Surreal scenery and adventure-packed vacations are easily part of your Maui vacation.
Things to do in Maui include visiting the world’s largest dormant volcano and the largest banyan tree, whale watching, and snorkeling off crescent-shaped crater rim of Molokini. Culture and architecture, multiple hikes, a journey to Hana, waterfalls, and many sunny days at the beach are also part of the fun.
Haleakala
A highlight of a Maui vacation is a visit to the summit of Haleakala Volcano where you can hike down into the summit crater. Haleakala is also home to one of the most spectacular sunrises in the world.
Hana
The drive to “Heavenly Hana” provides spectacular coastal and mountain views. When you arrive in Hana you can enjoy the beautiful beaches and then drive a bit further to hike through a bamboo forest at Kipahulu and swim in the Sacred Pools.
Iao Valley
In historic Iao Valley, you can see the 1,200-foot pinnacle called the Iao Needle and try out the Nature Center’s interactive exhibits.
Maui Whale Watching
During the winter months, Maui waters are also the best place in the Islands to see the 40-ton humpback whales breaching from the sea. You can see them from land, but we highly recommend a Maui whale watching tour for an opportunity to see these creatures up close.
